In 2008 I found myself enjoying a great job that paid me 55k per year, offered a 401k matching program, 5 weeks of paid vacation time annually plus medical, dental, and vision insurance. After 12 years of enjoying the comfort and security of that job, Tina and I walked away from it all to answer the call of God to pastor a store front church that at that time couldn’t afford to pay for the gas that it took to drive from Saginaw to Mount Pleasant. To everyone that knew us best, me quitting that job to pastor a tiny church with no means of income seemed “crazy!” But we knew that God spoke and so we were “ALL IN.” There may have only been 14 people in church that first Sunday, but we all knew from the very first day that God was doing something special at FCC.
Since that first Sunday, God brought FCC to another “ALL IN” moment when by faith, Faith Community Church moved out of that storefront church and purchased our current ministry campus. We’ve also broken through the 400 attendance mark, seen over 800 people surrender their lives to Jesus, 142 Baptized in water, over 250 people discovered their spiritual gifts, and in 2014 over 37,000 people watched FCC online from over 46 different countries around the world! Yes, God is blessing FCC! Yes, FCC is growing and lives are transforming! BUT at our current rate of growth, FCC will reach a plateau by 2016 and we will officially be stuck.
It’s been 8 years since our first “ALL IN” moment and God is calling FCC to another Big, Bold, and Biblical step of faith. FCC needs a ministry campus that can and will reach every generation. We need a facility that’s not only handicap accessible, but creates room for our children and our children’s children. Our ultimate vision it to see 5,000 people every weekend at FCC Worshipping God, Walking with God, and Working for God. We’re called to become a regional church that develops spiritual leaders and plants satellite churches around the country. But none of this can happen until we first expand our current ministry campus and we can’t expand our current ministry campus until we own our land. We need leaders who are willing to come together and “Build the Next Dimension of our Faith.” We need courageous men and woman of faith who will join Tina and I and go “ALL IN.”
Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. Proverbs 3:9 – 10 NTL
Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed. 2 Corinthians 9: 6 – 8 (NASB)
The generous man will be prosperous, And he who waters will himself be watered. Proverbs 11:25 (NASB)
17 Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. 18 Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. 19 By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life. 1 Timothy 6:17 – 19 (NLT)
